Duke about to send.

Description

This area is comprised of two seperate areas - the Gunsmoke Area and the Indian Wave Boulders - which have different approaches and markedly different feels.

The highly popular Gunsmoke Area is found north of the parking area in a large open valley that's not visible from where you park while the Indian Wave Boulders are slightly northeast of the parking area

Getting There

For problems in the Gunsmoke area - park in the large paved lot and hike in along the old road which turns into a trail. Make a sharp left midway along a worn trail, pass a short rocky section, go a bit further and turn right to enter a broad open valley - the Gunsmoke traverse will soon be visible at about one o'clock (slightly to the right). Plan on a 10 minute hike from the car.

For the Indian Wave Boulders head northeast from the parking lot to pick up a trail heading east to the boulders which lie scattered about the trail. Plan on a 5 minute hike to reach this area.

Start as far left as possible, move right along the wall for about 50' past 2 crux sections, turn the corner (third crux), and continue another 35' along rails to a final bulge. If your guns aren't too smoked, reverse your moves b...[more]
