The Rosetta Stone is a large round boulder, somewhat reminiscent of Slashface, with a dark patina south face. This face is dead vertical, is about 22 ft. tall, and has 4 excellent, Proud boulder problems on it.
Getting There
As you enter the Loveland canyon, locate the obvious Bird Beak Formation. To the right of this formation is a small gully that leads over a small hill. Follow this gully over the hill and into the start of a larger canyon. Walk down this canyon for several 100 feet to the round, dark brown boulder. Approach is about 30 min.

The Miramontes guide is "just a little off" on the parking for this area. There are two turnouts (offset) on the road, 1.1 miles east of (past) the Live Oak Picnic Area turnoff. Park in one of the turnouts and walk north a bit until a deteriorating dirt road becomes noticeable. Follow this until it is possible to drop into the wash. From the wash turn left for a short hike until one must climb the small "impass" in the wash. The bird beak rock should them become clearly visible along with a large "bird egg of a boulder" on the right.. Hike up and past said boulder and right of the bird beak formation to access the backside of the bird beak area. Looking left the Rosetta Stone should become visible.
