"Serpent Scales".

Description

Locate Water Moccasin (5.7); this is the well-bolted, left-arching friction route climbing the right edge of the brown section of the wall. To the right of Water Moccasin is a lighter section of rock, with a steep section at the bottom. The Harrell-Turner route (5.10b) ascends the center of this section of rock.

Serpent Scales climbs past four bolts (the last slightly off to the right) along the "scales," which are splotchy, brown patina plates along the right side of the lighter section of rock.

A 50m rope is just sufficient to get you back to the ground.

Protection

Four bolts to a chain anchor.
