BETA PHOTO: The south face of Snickers as seen from the road.

Description

Snickers is the large, tan-colored formation visible from the Barker Dam Road that's connected to Little Rock Candy Mountain on it's southwest end. The southern aspect, despite it's somewhat broken appearance, is home to a number of fine routes which tend to see little traffic despite the easy approach.

Midway along the south face of Snickers is a box canyon that's home to such routes as Funny Money (5.8+), Henny Penny (5.10d), When You're A Jet (5.11c), Iron Maiden (5.11d) and When You're Erect (5.12a). This can be a good place to escape the wind on those all too common blustery days.

East of the box canyon is another set of routes perched on a series of ledges. Routes here include Grain Death (5.9), Extra Chunky (5.10b), Sweet Ginger (5.11a/b) and The Art Of Deception (5.11b).

Getting There

Approach as for Little Rock Candy Mountain but continue east on a trail for another 100 meters or so until you come to the box canyon routes and then make a left (heading north); some scrambling is needed to access these routes.

For the climbs in the vicinity of Sweet Ginger continue east another 100 meters along the trail and then approach up easy blocks and slabs to the base. It's also possible to approach this area from the east along an old road/wash from the vicinity of More Monkey Than Funky.
