DescriptionCastle Rock is the large oblong formation that Belle Campgroung is centered around. Multiple routes are to be found on it's Northwest and Southwest faces. Approaches are, as to be expected, quite casual and there exists a good mix of both crack and face climbing. The better routes are found on the Nortwest side as that is where the better rock is found. There are a few other routes scattered about in the vicinity. Getting ThereBelle Campground is located 1.4 miles South of the Pinto Wye (this is the intersection where the road splits off to either 29 Palms or Jumbo Rocks Campground). Belle Campground is easily identified by either the road sign (!) or the obvious large rock formation (Castle Rock). The ClassicsMountain Project's determination of some of the classic, most popular, highest rated routes for Castle Rock-North Side:
