Comments on Fecal Rock and Slab City
By duh Jun 11, 2007 If it is the formation I'm thinking it is, it's called Slab City. One route has been soloed on that formation, a couple of other route posibilities exist. Could be a popular easy wall if somebody took the time to develop it.
By Locker Jun 11, 2007 duh!, I do not believe this to be the same formation as you wrote of above... It is the rock immediately across from Twin Towers (directly South)... the route is FINISHED... There is a SLAB behind it a bit (looks to have a FEW potential routes and if they are still there in the near future then...)... is that the one you are speaking of???... the one we put the new route on is not what I would consider a SLAB per sey... oh well... let me know please...
By Locker Jul 27, 2007 I don't think it's the photo (Which I deleted since I haven't got a CLUE!!!)... I'm begining to wonder if I have EVER actually been to NJC...
By Locker Jul 27, 2007 "D&D" and "Brandts Booty" are BOTH on the same formation and it probably IS "Slab City"... that would make sense... Now we're getting somewhere... "Potty Training" is on the formation in front of it... Where we went south is when you thought the FIRST route was on "Slab City" I think...Close!!! Just "no Cigar"... Now you win the CIGAR though because we DID do some routes on "SLAB CITY"...and of course you were correct that they were "easier"... Might name the next route... "Clueless at NJC"... thanks DUH!... EDIT: "reread it several times if you need to"... do you HONESTLY think it would do any good???... Seriously though... We've got it figured now... NEXT!!!...
By duh Aug 3, 2007 The photo you posted is not great, it does show the crags in question though. Brandt's Booty and D&D are on Slab City. I can't be sure untill I walk to the base, however it appears that D&D is the route that I soloed several years back. No biggie on the retro. It's difficult to see clearly in your photo if Potty Training is on the same formation as Between A Rock And A Hard Place. Is there a steep difficult route, starting inside a chimney left of PT? If so that formation is called Hard Rock Cafe. Looking foward to checking out your work this fall.
By Locker Aug 3, 2007 For the record I did not take the photo. It's a little on the "WASHED OUT" looking side...
