Crossing the creeks in my bus! Pretty fun approach...

Description

A bouldering area that meanders along next to the Santa Ynez River. This area can be hard to get to especially early in the season since there are 5 to 6 river crossings to get there. Once you are in the park follow the road up towards the Teri Polo Boulder area. During the summer weekends this area offers a quite reprive from the heat so it can be pretty crowded but mostly with sun bathers and partiers.

Getting There

Take the 154E to Paradise Rd. Paradise road is just after you crest on top of the mountain and start heading down the other side. There is good camping along Paradise rd. Get reservations though, because on the weekend this is the hot spot.
Continue along Paradise Rd for about 10 minutes till you come to the park. Very important make sure you get an Adventure Pass in town before coming up, they don't sell them at the park, and you cannot get in to the park without one. The nearest place to get an adventure pass is at the Cachuma Recreation Area about 10 miles further east on the 154.
