Description

A fairly enjoyable climb up excellent rock with many horizontal edges. Would be amazing if it were longer. The crux is pulling the steepish bulge near the top.

Location

La La Land is located in the third drainage/gully north of Rock Canyon and has many small quartzite walls to explore. The easiest way to get there is to park in the Rock Canyon parking lot and hike north onto the Bonneville Shoreline Trail until you come to the third gully on your right. Hike up the gully until you find the bolts.

Protection

4 bolts to chains anchors

Really, this is a good as 5.8 gets. Super steep and pumpy on fantastic rock.
You could wish it were longer, but that's typically the wish of every climb you get on, and it wouldn't be 5.8 if it were.

Fun route. It's just slightly overhung most of the way which gives a kind of exposed feeling. My favorite part was the small roof. My brother and I both thought it was a bit harder than a 5.8, maybe a 5.9 or 5.9+. Yeah, the approach is a huge pain.
