Description

This has good southwest exposure for winter months. Two boulders sit just north of South Main and in the Buena Vista River Park. There is good, overhung terrain on both with natural and set routes.

Getting There

See directions to in-town boulders. For this one, park on South Main Street and walk one block to them, or park near the footbridge and walk downstream to them (South Main St is closer).

Here's a natural line in the Boulder Garden....

Very cool boulders. Nice park. Worthy of a stop on your way through BV.
Haven't been enough to know if someone is care taking and changing the routes occasionally or not. However, the current set (Aug 2011) is not well done. There is no flow through the lines, just feels like holds randomly bolted on with no forethought or experience by the route setters.

Great setting for a burn... stroll to Eddyline for a pint of their River Runner Pale Ale (just won gold at the Great American Beer Festival) when you're done!

Hey Will, thanks for the comment. As of now, route setting is still on a volunteer basis for these boulders; however, we're lobbying the town to set aside a budget to pay setters which would greatly improve the quality and freshness of problems. As of now, the Boulder Garden has some very popular problems set in the V0-V4 range. Stop by for a burn, and rest assured that we'll get the setting even better in the near future.
