Cubic Block

Description 

A large area containing some great walks on the moors as well as a huge variety of bouldering and single pitch climbs. Climbs can range from 5. easy to 5.12/13.

Can be a touristy place on nice days as its a National Trust site and draws people from all walks of life. Parking is fairly cheap and if you plan on returning it's worth buying a National Trust membership as it covers parking.

The rock is all great quality gritstone, has been well traveled and so is devoid of loose rock (for the most part) but is still great.

Bring a standard rack i.e. set of stoppers, set of cams (.5-3 camalots) and maybe some hexes if you're into that sort of thing. Climbs are pretty short so a 50M rope will easily cover everything.

Get ready to get your friction on!

Great guide book for the whole area and more is Yorkshire Gritstone. It'll run about 20 pound at local climbing shops new and well worth it, great pics and good info on routes.

Getting There 

There are a number of ways to get there, best to look up directions. Not far from Summerbridge or Pateley Bridge. Approaches vary but can be as short as 2 minutes or as long as 20.
