Description

There are many boulders surrounding the main Sundown Ledge area. I spent a few days finding and cleaning some awesome problems, but there's a lot more potential! I gave everything my own names, but I'm sure some of these have been climbed before. Please comment and criticize my names/grades if you've climbed these before!

Getting There

Drive to the Covered Bridge Campground on the Kancamagus Highway. Park in the Boulder Loop Trail Parking lot on the right.

Just walk around the boulder loop trail. You don't have to go far from the path to find great lines.

I found some chalk and cleaned boulders in this area, but I don't know how they missed this gem! It was completely covered in lichen when I found it and quite unclimbable. After a bunch of cleaning it turned into a great line.Start standing with your hands on either side. Then desperately muscle your way up the arete.A lower start is probably possible and much harder....[more]   Browse More Classics in NH

Jon, thanks so much for the bouldering info here! Were these names you've given them? If so, nice set. :D

When the days get a little short and colder for going to Greens, I want to check these out. I have never explored much around Sundown except close to the Main Cliff. They look good.

No problem; it was a blast to explore! Yeah I made up the names haha. First things that came to mind.

You should definitely get out and explore. There's still a TON of potential here.
