Planning on doing end of Feb/first days of March. Planning on overnighting at camp Muir for 2 nights (one full day of rest) and a summit push in 1 day pending conditions.

I have Nepal Evos. Is that going to be sufficient? Should I think about renting plastics or buying overboots?

Thanks!

Do you have any tips on keeping the single layer dry? Any luck with vapor barrier socks?

Wear a good gaiter that covers the boots.

I often use a VLB sock from these folks: gator-sports.com/shop/basic…

It is somewhat thick but reasonable. The key to keeping boot dry is to get them off you feet once in camp so they dry a bit and stuff in your sleeping bag at night.

in winter conditions it's more about keeping them warm at night. doubles or plastics you can sleep with the liners, so evo may be a little less comfortable to sleep with, but just try keep em next to you in tent you'll be fine. another good trick for moisture is waded up newspaper in the boots.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
