It's in the trees near the boat launch just below the cliff line.
Getting There
The 'new' best way to get there is to park at the Deer Cove Picnic area(same parking as D.I.Boulders) and go up to the left on the existing trail, continue along the trail past the rock shelter and it will spit you out right at the 'Out Past Curfew' boulder. Just beyond that is the Deutcschlander wall.
The Classics
Mountain Project's determination of some of the classic, most popular, highest rated routes for Boat Landing Boulders:
Crux is pulling up to the face and topping it out. Also odd at first to have the rock behind you for the traverse in. Not bad when you get used to it but kinda "inspect her gadget" at hp40 ish. but not as intrusive. cool features and good movement. Starts on obvious jug and goes to the right using the various lip holds and also the crack inside the roof for about 5 feet or so and then up the face...[more]Browse More Classics in WI
It seems like a better way to approach this area would be to park at the Deer Cove picnic area and walk up the trail towards the left that leads to the old cave habitat. You can follow the already existing trail along the wall straight to the boulders. This would eliminate the need for bushwhacking and the creation of an unnecessary trail coming up from the boatlanding.
I agree that this is also a good way as well. Only thoughts are the limited parking that there is at that spot. whether that is a problem im not totally sure. also the place where my directions send you across the road there is a seemingly existing but faint trail up and brings you essentially to the big jim boulder. I agree though that its a good spot for approach.
Hit the Boat Landing area for the first time this past weekend. Weather was perfect. Took some footage of House Arrest and Out Past Curfew while we were there. The latter is one of the best V4's (after Godfather...) in Governor Dodge. Thanks for all the beta. Couldn't have found it without the site. Had an awesome time.
After too much time apart, I went back 20 days after my previous trip to the Boat Landing Boulders. Last time Grounded for Life shut me down, so I came with some fire in my belly for the send. Clip also includes Get the Hell Out of Dodge.
