| Is the Black Mountain guidebook coming out any time soon? The blog doesn't seem to have been updated in almost a year. Looking to plan a trip for the fall, but hard to consider if our crew is strong enough to climb at black mountain since most of the posts are about hard problems. Any comments on the moderates (V4-8 ish) at Black Mountain? | FLAG |

| I was just there a month ago at boulder basin and lookout areas and feel the grades are consistent. I typically boulder V3-4. I had a hard time finding good warm up but otherwise tons of stuff from V3-Vhard. I enjoyed the round boulder arete and the visor quite a bit. Theres also a link on MP for a rough topo in pdf format that you can download and print. | FLAG |

| There is stuff of all grades, just look around. Hopefully the guidebook never comes out! Much nicer with less people. | FLAG |

| Black mountain is covered in two existing guides: 5 star bouldering and socal bouldering. Both may be somewhat dated but are available at local REIs. Can't see a dedicated guide bringing the crowds since there's this nice little spot called Bishop less than half a day's drive away but is one really needed? Probably not but an update to either existing guides would be nice in time. | FLAG |

| Black mt has been and continues to be extensively developed mainly by a handful of local climbers. A guidebook is in the works, but they keep finding new areas! Use what guides you can find and check other sites like westcoastbouldering.com for some info. There is moderate bouldering at Black, but you may have to search a little | FLAG |
