On the left side of the photo is the Black Arete 5...

Description

Rumor has it that this arete has been free climbed at 12d. There were plans to bolt it several years back, but it still remains a TR climb.

Location

The obvious arete to the left of Devil's Corner.

Protection

Bolted TR anchors

I finally got on this after 3 years of walking by. By far one of the coolest climbs in Little Falls, I definitely needs to be bolted so it could be done clean. I ascended with a few falls but only gave it one good session. Should be around 12d or 13ish. There was no move I couldn't do but some very reachy crimpy moves. greg why didn't you force me to climb this earlier on.

Wow guys, that really is a striking arete! Get some action photos on that thing! Great work equipping it!
