A great toproping area. Not often used, but a good place to get a quick climb in close to Telluride. Gets some sun in the highest points of the day. Best seasons are spring-fall. Only a few climbs here, so don't plan on spending a lot of time here. The access road is private, so do not block and be cuteous. Sandstone, about 60'. Follow the quick trail to the left of the face around and up to the topropw set. Recommended 30' sling for set up.
Getting There
From Telluride travel west on CO 145. Take the Ilium turnoff, and make your first right onto a dirt road. Follow to the left and park at the gates. Follow the road on the left for about 2 mintues.
This area is a lot of fun. 4 routes left to right. 5.10, 5.11, 5.10, 5.8. I don't know the names, Guid book just rated them. Great top rope area you can hit after work. You need long slings or extra rope to get it over the edge. Watch for loose rock at top when setting up. Bomber anchors in place.
