Can someone with personal experience please confirm how many 60m ropes it takes to get down from (and haul up to) Heart Ledges on Salathe?

If memory serves it is 4 60's or three 70's, but it's been a few years. There will most likely be many ropes already fixed so walking up to look before doing the Freeblast might save you some energy.

You'll probably have better luck over on Supertopo, however you'll get an earfull for sure.

I climbed the Salathe' last fall and there were fixed ropes all the way to Heart Ledge. However, some of them were pretty gnarly looking and I remember they were all chopped shortly after were out there. Ya just never know until you get there.

Last reported on Supertaco was that lines were up but there were a couple of sections that had exposed core, so heads up.

My recollection is that it's five ropes from Heart to the ground. I believe that's using interim anchors, though, not all tied together.

Yep, five sounds about right. I remember several exposed cores on the ropes last fall. Be prepared to pass knots when going up/down.
