This is something that I have never really mastered and I've spent a lot of time doing it. The article in the post by Dr Piton is probably the best thing I have ever read on the subject and hence the link.

Well, I ought to have somewhere to post. McTopo is annoying because there is too much non-climbing shit to deal with. Chris Mac refuses to separate the forum into climbing and non-climbing stuff.

Tell me about this place - is there some place we could build a repository or some such thing?

How does it compare to Middendorf's site? I have written some odds and ends over there.

Thanks for checking us out over here and I'll try to convince you below why I think
you should post your stuff here...

1. We are new and not hung up on old history.
2. We have forums so your stuff wouldn't be lost
3. We could even have a "Dr Piton's Big Wall Forum"
4. John's site has a very small following. I post there as well, but only check in once every couple of weeks. A lot of people therefore wouldn't see your stuff.
5. A lot of people who post in the rc.com big wall forum, would follow you over to here...
6. There are no space limitations, you can post pictures in forums, etc.
7. I can help you with posting stuff, formating, posting pictures, etc
8. Your stuff is just too good to be lost and it should not be difficult to retrieve. I've spent many hours searching and reading your stuff, only to find that a couple of weeks later the links break. That won't happen here. If you post here I'll make sure your stuff will be up to date and your links will work.
10. Quality. We really try to have post quality stuff, routes, descriptions, etc so your writings would be a good fit.

So what ya think of that for the top 10 reasons! I've worked in sales as well.

Or if you want to go ahead and move over the Russkie post from McTopo and the heading post from RC - go ahead and put it under my user name - you can use your edit function, right? - and once it's uploaded, give me the heads up, and I'll come in and personalize it.

Right now I'm taking pix of my Russian Aiders cuffs, closeups of the hooks, to put in the article.

PTPP and John -- this would be great. It's often hard to find and navigate your posts on rc.com if you're not intimately familiar with them and the site. Frequently, it seems the links or photos aren't working. MP definitely seems to have more stability and will be around for the long haul. Go for it!
