Located at the top of Sunset Peak. The crag is west facing. Be prepared for a hard day of climbing.
There is a pull-out at the far west end of the refuge to park in. There is a trail that takes you south meandering through the woods. Stay on this until you reach an open field. If you keep walking south you'll reach a sort of gully that is full of trees and brush. After a short walk up the hill you should be able to see the face of Big Whiskey to your left. It is big and covered with bright yellow/green lichen. Take the path of least resistance to the base of the cliff.

A little run out to first bolt but the climbing is pretty easy. Follow the fun face climbing through two more bolts then head left to through what looks like a rogue bolt to meet up with the top section and last bolt of Elk Horn Special. There is a variation that goes straight up through a very improbable looking roof towards another bolt and I don't believe it has been done. Chuck Lohn's guidebook has this route mis-marked as this harder variation. ...[more] Browse More Classics in OK
