The Climb

This is a very enjoyable boulder just past The Cave turnoff and Manuel's Horror. At the road's switchback look left towards the city view and notice a modest overhanging boulder. It consists of probably 6 variations, from 5.8/9 jugs, to a 5.11+ sit start option. Great fun, good for the beginner.

Protection

A bolt can serve as a TR anchor.

There are actually a pair of bolts over the commonly done 5.9 route (about top center of photo). One can scramble up the back to set a TR (low 5th class).

Rather cool boulder problem. I used shallow pods at the back of the crack over the top to throw a heel and mantle. A bit scary looking down from the top, it sneaks up on you!
