We're planning on climbing in VT, NH and Maine next week but the weather isn't looking great. Does anyone have recommendations on crags that you can climb at in the rain? Looking for stuff from low 10 to low 12, sport or trad. I was hoping to hit up stuff in the Bolton Valley, Rumney, North Conway and Shagg. Any of that stay dry?

Sundown near Conway
Waimea at Rumney
Unfortunately the dry climbs tend to be 12a and harder because they are steeper walls capped with roofs. Shagg seems like it would stay dry in the rain. Can't say I know Bolton well enough to say one way or the other.

The weathermen have been consistently over estimating the amount of rain this spring. I'm betting that you will be able to climb at a ton of places this weekend, everything is bone dry right now. Any crag that is overhanging should be ok....a short list at Rumney would include new wave, orange crush, main cliff, Waimea, starship enterprise, and prudential.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
