Description

The herd path diverging from the East Path comes directly to this slab. It is about 110' tall at its highest. The path comes up below a left-facing corner that doesn't quite reach the ground, this is Belle Bottom Crack.

Getting There

Take the East (a.k.a. BAW) Path past all the Measles Walls. As the path reaches a viewpoint above the MWs, take a herd path that diverges left, walking another five minutes to reach this slab.

Climb up dicey slab to clip the first bolt from the right, then shift left. Strange and wonderous movement pulls through the steepness. The challenges don't end just yet, though nothing is quite so tricky afterward. Still, the line of bolts is greatly appreciated and at times their separation unpleasant until the last is passed and the climbing really does settle down. Were the entire 90' like the first 25, this would be a masterpiece of friction and technical skill....[more]   Browse More Classics in NY
