Hi friends. I am new to the climbing community. In fact, I do not even own climbing shoes (They are still being shipped). |

Hi Michael: |

i say your best bet is to hit your local climbing gear and start bouldering around and chit chatting with the regulars! 75% of climbers are chill people so your be able to pick up some pointers pretty fast and magazines like rock and ice and climbing will help you as well good luck !!! |

start at a gym in your area. meet some people. ask for help. most people enjoy helping someone else out. some climbers are douchebag assholes that think they're too good for everyone else, but those are few and far between. you'll know those people, so just keep your distance. most people are friendly. get outdoors once you start feeling a little more comfortable with climbing. the gym is a good place to start, but it will never replace the real thing. you'll find the more you get outside that the gym just isn't as appealing. it's good for having some fun and training though. |
