What are you summer secrets for staying in shape around the Vegas?

I seem to notice a seasonal inversion from other places I've lived. There the winter is when you get out of shape, here the Summer seems to do it for me??

I'm sick of playing the Wii all day...laughing, not really what I do, but you get the point?

I force myself to Charleston, but that seems to be getting repeatitive.

I just climbed 1/2 dome this weekend, and want to keep the climbing train rollin'.

I get so flippn bored...any ideas?

Real or imagined, funny, or serious?

I having been climbing every weekend. I know it sounds crazy but if you stay in the shade things are not too bad. I didn't even use chalk. Granted you may not get the most out of your rubber or be pushing the harder grades but RR still has alot of offer. I think black velvet can be good in the afternoons this time of year too.

As for secrets to staying in shape. . . well. . . my regimen consists of pumping beer bottles and punctuated with occasional climbs with little water that T.E. Lawrence would be proud of.

my "secret" is to head over to paradise forks. its a great area to keep in shape. the temps are more like charleston than rr, bunches of great cracks (which rr lacks), free camping, compact cragging enables good mileage, no crowds, no bolts. i'll be back over there sun-mon and always have trouble convincing lv folks its a worthy area. any interest?

hats off and god bless karsten. he's a real man. frankly, i just can't take the heat out at rr in the summer. i tried on monday, went early, but 110 was just too much. maybe next summer for me, but probably not.

so good luck finding solutions. if you come up with something brilliant, let the rest of us know.

1. Beer curls (works the biceps)
2. Slot machine pulls (triceps)
3. Cross dressing (exercises the ability to mentally stay in control during interesting and possibly uncomfortable situations)
4. Nookie (full body workout)
5. Cig and dope smoking (when you quit, your lungs will feel stronger)
6. Video games (increase concentration and finger strength)
7. Strip clubs (see reason for # 3 and 4 if you're lucky)
8. Vandalism/armed robbery/peeping tom/ streaking (running from the cops is good for cardio unless you get chased by a really fat cop)
9. Dine and dash(eat a good, healthy dinner and get a good workout similar to that in # 8)
10. Climb as many buildings as you can at night without getting caught. (need no explanation for benefits here)

And last but not least:
11. When you’re in jail you'll have plenty of time to write a great trip report of your summer in Vegas. Plus, you get to workout at their gym for FREE!!!!

Have a fun summer everyone! :-)

I know I'm a little late with this post, but, you can beat the heat in the high Sierra. Lots of climbing and its not that far. I've spent the last three weekends climbing there.

Both AK and sierra are fine suggestions...

I was thinking more urban in an afternoon stuff.

I have to get MUCH faster to shred AK in an afternoon.

Cheers

road trip. i was climbing in the mt blanc area last week. it was perfect. now it has been snowing and raining for a week but that just means more italian wine and german beer. don't scorch too bad fellas.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
