Looking for other Barefoot Runners in UT. I am moving there soon. I just started training again so I am not running more than 4 mi yet.... Taking it slow and keeping Injury Free :)

If you dont Run Bare than check this out the book Born to Run.

I had my knee scoped about 4 weeks ago and when I'm all rehabbed I think it might be more gentle on my knee to try the barefoot option! Are you an experienced barefoot runner even though you just started training again? Have you had injuries in the past?

Anyway, I'll be passing through the UT area this summer while climbing so if I've gotten into it by then it'd be fun to go for a run!

Good luck in your search for running buddies!

Laurie, I'm glad to hear your knee is feeling better. I have had a lot of injuries in the past. I'm at 4 weeks running bare. I am taking it slow and feeling better. Since I started running barefoot, I have become more in tune with my body and running form. Furthermore, barefoot running actually reduces the impact on our bodies if done correctly. Wearing shoes take away the communication between the earth and our feet. i.e heel striking (which causes injuries) is not possible barefoot, because it hurts. Hope to see you in Utah

I run barefoot and am training to run my first marathon in Steamboat Springs barefoot. I've been running in the colder weather with fivefinger shoes, but on nicer days I get my barefoot time in.

I absolutely love it...I can't go as far as saying I'm "in tune" with anything more, and I don't find it to be spiritual as some people like to spew. I just like it and feel better after each run than I ever did with shoes...except when I step on the sharp pebbles.

Unfortunately not in UT to go running with you...but I'll also be there in the summer sometime.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
