Description

John and I did the first ascent of this back in 1992. It started with a leap from the canyon to the base of the rock. We climbed the back side of the rock. At the time, I asked a ranger if it was off limits. She said no. Now, it might be.

Protection

Slings, biners, possibly some replacement angles.

Thanks for posting this, I was wondering if this had ever been climbed. Unfortunately, this and Mushroom Rock are currently off limits to climbing for some reason.

Paul, I know. I suspect that it likely was (off limits) back then and that ranger I asked didn't know either way. I suspect she would never have dreamed we'd go back up the road and climb it. Oh well, hindsight is 20-20, right?
