Bad Reichenhall Rock Climbing
Old postcard with overview of Bad Reichenhall
Bad Reichenhall sits at the base of the alps along a winding river. There is a lot of rock yet to be explored in the surrounding area, most all of it limestone.
STAYING: Unfortunately there is not a hostel or campground in Bad Reichenhall, but there are in the Berchtesgaden and Chiemsee area.
AUTO: From Garmisch-P it is 2hrs: take the A95 north toward Munich and get off at exit 9, go toward Bad Tölz on the B472. Follow the 472 and soon after Bad Tölz get on the B13 North and at Holzkirchen, follow signs for the A8, get on the A8 going south. Follow the A8 past Chiemsee and get off the exit for Mauthausen, take the B20 south to Bad Reichenhall. FROM MUNICH, same as above, just take the A8 direct. FROM Berchtesgaden, take the 20 North to Bad Reichenhall.
TRAIN: Unfortunately from Garmisch, you have to take the train to Munich, then to Freilassing, the trip takes 4hrs. From Munich or Berchtesgaden, train would be a better option.
Climbing Season For the Germany area.
