I am going to be in Aspen for the holiday and am curious on what conditions are like up there? Can anybody give me some info on some dry areas to climb in the vicinity, espeically moderate trad or sport because I may need to take out new climbers? I know independence pass will be a no go, but what about the carbondale area? Any info is much appreciated.

Downvalley is the name of the game I think. I climbed in Carbondale and Glenwood over the weekend and was able to find completely dry crags. A lot of stuff is still wet though. Indy Pass should be opening tomorrow and you may have luck at Weller Slab or Grotto Wall as well. Haven't been up there yet to check it out, but I'll probably head up over the weekend to see how things are looking. If you want more detailed info about the downvalley crags just PM me.
