BETA PHOTO: Asbury Park - Right 10. Project 5.13? 11. Rule ...

This wall has a selection of 5.12s and 13s, a couple of 5.10s and 11s. There are a good mix of sport and trad. I have encountered a rattlesnake twice here. Wasps can provide some extra spice to routes(especially cracks)at times.

Getting There

Follow directions to the Ramp Routes. Continue up the grassy ramp. At the top of the ramp as the slope eases you will pass some boulders. Continue along the ledge up and over a rocky spot and locate a prominent right-facing dihedral. This is the main wall at Asbury Park. The trad route in the dihedral is E Street(10c).

The route ascends the clean sweep of orange quartzite, just to the south (right) of Thunder Road. Locate a small overhang that is @ 15 feet above the ground, and @ 15 feet right of Thunder Road. Climb through the small roof and follow a thin crack to a juggy rail. Traverse right a few feet, and climb a thin crack through a bulge to the two bolt anchors. Good gear protection is realized using small cams and midsized stoppers. Happy trails ...[more]   Browse More Classics in UT
