A few completed linkups in a day:

Winter of 2008

Miner's Needle via "Threading the Needle", Barks Canyon Wall via "The Glory Road", the Fortress via "South Side", Weaver's Needle via "west Chimney".

Spring of 2007

Flatiron via "Sidewinder", Crying Dinosaur via "Regular Route", "Spiderwalk" and "Rink-Kudo".

Spring of 2006

Weaver's Needle, Tom's Thumb, The Praying Monk. Used a vehicle to get from place to place vs. the time I attempted this on my bike and failed...

bicycle superstitions to mcdowells to camelback plus approaches in one day? that's f*ing preposterous. I'd like to try it...

Yes, probably should give the bike method another attempt, it has always been a "thorn-in-my-side" having not completed it. The day I tried it happened to be the shortest day of the year and it began to rain.

I'm in. I might need a better bike.

When we tried it I rode a mountain bike and my friend rode his rode bike. I would ride the rode bike and deal with the last several miles of dirt to the trailhead. Let me know if you are in for the suffering and perhaps we can set a date. With all of the development around the McDowells I believe the access has gotten closer to TOm's Thumb....

That's pretty funny. I assure you, that is not the case. You used to just hike up from the base of the hill below the formation. Now you have to use the "approved" dirt parking lot and the approach is about three times farther and a bunch more elevation gain.

But you could ride your bike up from the west side... about 6 miles and you have to hike-a-bike the last half mile up the switchbacks.
