| Hi all,
We will be doing our annual Thanksgiving visit to Tucson soon. We love your area and, thanks to lots of you who have shown us around, are pretty familiar with MtLemmon and Cochise, even Babo, but this visit we want to check out Mendoza.
We are driving a low clearance sport wagon, which made it slowly into Whale Dome in March.
Can we get anywhere close to the climbs in Mendoza. Should we rent a 4-wheel, or get a ride with people who know where they are going?

You can get into Mendoza with a regular passenger car. Give me a call or PM me, as I'd be up for going there. I've done Wiley Javalina, Table for Two, and Elephants Trunk. What have you been up to since Babo? | FLAG |

| Bear in mind that you need an Arizona State Lands Trust permit to get in there--last year it went up from 15 to 50 dollars! Probably no one will check if you don't have it, but if anyone does, it will definitely reflect negatively on climbers in a pretty access-sensitive area.
Other than that I second the comments about the road--with care, a passenger car can get in there. And, I've done two routes in there and loved 'em both. | FLAG |

| i'll add my two cents here: take your mtn bike with you for the approach, makes it faster and a bit more fun. you can stash them at the end of the road where the trail narrows. | FLAG |

| Dont need a pass and you dont need a 4x4. Just sign in at the ranch. The bike is a great idea. I have ridden in their several times. Soft sand. I would do table for two. | FLAG |
