Rehydrating, Tuolumne Meadows.

Bill, Brian, Steve..
My apologies for putting you in the wrong categories in the tally above. (There were 140+ posts!)

I'll delete the names, let's just figure the tally is approximate. If anyone wants to add them up yourself and see if you get a different number, go ahead.

And I agree with Steve and Bill. Talking to the land owners/managers isn't really a good idea. Climbers have basically unrestricted free access right now, there is no reason to jeopardize this because of an ethical disagreement over a few bolts. In the big picture, whether these anchors are there or not isn't a big deal. With this in mind, publicly revisiting this issue for the 3rd time might not have been such a good idea.. it could be argued that the rogue bolting/chopping that was going on was a better situation for us..
As I said on page 1: Hope a resolution is reached before Los Alamos Open Space decides for us.

Bob's Been to Joshua Tree!

George, no worries!

I'll have to think some more about the points raised re: landowners. In my mind, access and bolting were two separate issues, but maybe they are more intertwined than I realized. I was thinking however that involving the landowners might give whatever agreement is reached a lot more legitimacy and hence be easier to enforce. In any event neither this discussion, nor the fact that there are many climbing areas in Los Alamos is secret!
