Description

Monster Roof is a long, low cliff band just past Anorexic Roof, going from deeply overhung in the middle to near vertical at either end. A wide range of problems from easy pocket and jug hauls to steep and powerful sloper-fests make this a very worthwhile stop. The ground slopes away from the landing on most of the roof, so a spotter is recommended. Beware of the sickening amounts of rodent poo far back in the roof.

Getting There

Follow the main trail into Priest Draw for roughly 15 minutes, past the Anorexic Roof on the right. Just past Anorexic is the very large and obvious Monster Roof, on the right as well.

Move N' Groove Barbie V8  AZ : Priest Draw : Monster Roof
An often-overlooked gem. Start in the back of the roof beneath the belly feature and climb out with good holds to set up for a long reach to a slopey crimp rail. Get situated and make a big slap out left, keep moving up until you can toss for the flat lip, then finish the topout and it's over. Just as quality as some of the more famous lines at the Draw, but it sees a fraction of the traffic. ...[more]   Browse More Classics in AZ
