Jerad Friedrichs on the Anorexic Roof

Description

Jutting straight out of the hillside and exposed on three of its sides, Anorexic Roof is one of the most striking formations at the Draw and contains two of its best-known problems, Anorexic Nerve Dance (V6) and Carnivore/Carnivore Direct (V8/V9). Anorexic in particular draws more people than perhaps any other problem in the Draw or all of Flagstaff and is an absolute must-do for anyone climbing at the grade. Solid and beautifully featured rock, a great landing, and some powerful, intense, truly classic lines make this one of the most popular roofs in the area.

Getting There

Follow the main trail past the turnoffs for The Island/Howard's Draw for a few minutes. The draw makes a slight right turn as you pass between two boulders. Anorexic Roof is just ahead and on the right. 10-15 minutes from the parking area.
