During part of the year you are not supposed to climb here, because the peregrine need a undisturbed flight path. There are other places to climb during this time so it probably should be respected.
This is one basalt boulder with many different options and several routes from V0-V7ish, there is about one of each rating. This boulder is one of my favorite boulders in Prescott, goes well with a bike ride up to the boulder or drive up for a great small session.
Getting There
Drive up thumb Butte road to you get to the parking lot. right before you enter the park you will be able to see the boulder on your left and up the hill. If you park in the parking lot it cost about $5. There is free parking in the lot on Thursdays. From the trail head across the road from the parking lot you will follow the left most paved trail until you find a faint trail on the left that leads to the boulder. The hike should not take more then five min for slow hikers.
