Description

The northern routes on Reata Pass West are all located near the east prow. Little Yosemite is a right facing corner to roof system. 1 1/2" crack in slick corner leads to right roof exit. The best little route in Phoenix and the best 5.7 at the Pinnacle Peak in the day.

Location

North side of wall. Route base is slightly shielded from view, but no other way in.....

Protection

small to medium nuts and friends

John Perlman tried to negotiate things with the armed resident at the base of the wall (JP is now an attorney- who'd a figured?), but the local wanted nothing but us gone. I had done the route once circa 1984 following John early on. In 1988 I soloed the route with Paul Wollam and another buddy of his one fine day that fall. A resort now exists off the end of the prow and a gated community now uses the old road to the Water Tank.

Historical Note:
The final battle between H.I. McDunnough and the biker Leonard Smalls in the classic "Raising Arizona" occurs at the old Reata Pass just below this route. The camera angle is never right to catch the prow area.
