Sept 7, 1986 will remain a day in infamy as my wings were clipped on this route. 21 years ago this morning I started out a solo campaign which was to be 25+ routes in a day at the peak. My plan was to even do Pecker Party (10b thin face) to Birthday Party roof. I had done 25 solos at the peak (at least 25 including onsite of Redemption) and was leading 11+ old school. 5th route of day, after doing the horribly loose "Brown Jamb", I started up Layback at about 9:30am. I was near the top soon after. Jambing only the left crack (instead of being locked in with right/left) I felt my high left hand slip. Readjusted both hands at same time and spit out. Hit the deck about 80' down and tumbled a little further. Oh well. I still get out.
