DescriptionThe AMC Boulder, named for the Arizona Mountaineering Club, is the second formation reached on the main climber's trail that heads up to the peak itself. The most obvious feature is the big overlapping flake of the route, Varicose, on the southern side. There are a number of good routes here and eyebolts for belaying and rappelling on the summit. Getting ThereHike up the tourist trail from the visitor's center (looks like a big smooth dirt golf cart path). At the sign marking the climber's trail headed for the Peak, turn left and head up. The trail curves back left (south) towards Loafer's Choice Slab and the AMC Boulder.
