I once interviewed for a job (at the old prison camp on mt lemmon !). The guy said "You look like THE UGLY in the good, the bad and the ugly". I laughed. Then I decked him. I got the job.

I'm laughing, John-I couldn't remember the right lingo, I figured that anything that seemed right would hopelessly date me. I should have asked my daughter.

I saw The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly for the first time 5 years ago, and it is my all time favorite movie. I've watched it several times already. I just downloaded the soundtrack yesterday; great music!

One of my all time favorite movies too. When I was younger my wife loved the way my Lee Van Cleef scowl would guarantee that no one sat near us in movie theatres. Doesn't seem to work as well now that my hair is nearly white and I shaved my mustache !

I love Angel Eyes' evil smirks. I'm glad it worked to your advantage at theaters. It helped that my ex had "Blondie's" squinty eyes, and "Angel Eyes" scowl when we were bottle digging in some pretty bad areas of L.A. We could dig at all hours of the day, and night, and not encounter too much trouble (except with cops on occasion). The sight of our scary probes, and shovels helped to keep people away too.

Anyway, I think the reason I really loved the movie is that it reminded me of the personalities of the bottle diggers I knew, and hung out with (I swear they could have easily killed each other out of greed; even though they were friends at times). They would even notice each others cigarette butts at claimed digging sites, and get into it with each other. The movie also reminds me a lot about life in general, and the music, and camera shots are incredible; and it's so damn funny!

I though that was a picture of Lee Van Cleef minus the grey hair. Does anybody remember him in the ninja role in the 80's TV series called The Master. jbak must be the master if he is climbing 5.13a
