Description

Generic name aside, the Right Section is sometimes referred to in a general sense as the Face Routes or Face Section of Granite Mountain. This area runs from Falling Ross all the way to Easy Chair on the right end of the mountain. The "face" designation comes because of the big crackless section of face climbs that runs from Cheiu Hoi over to Grody Coyote.

Getting There

Take the climber's trail all the way to the Front Porch. You can rack up there and then head over to the right to reach your objective. If you're planning on climbing on the right side all day, it might be easier to take your stuff with you and leave it over there for easier retrieval.

The one on the left looks harder than the one I chose on the right. While potentially easier, the rope seems to run over a sharp-ish edge when leading the right start, and some crumbly footing. Both starts are about 4.5 inch cams or so. After that, it ...[more]   Browse More Classics in AZ
