DescriptionBelow Watson Lake dam Granite Creek flows in a south to north direction creating a deep canyon containing some of Watson Lakes biggest walls. Framed by the granite cliffs and towering cottonwoods, this secluded riparian area is unique and worth a visit even if you're not climbing. Flooding and vegetation can be an issue at certain times of the year. With cracking concrete, rusting metal and water spewing from a giant valve at the base, the dam is an ominous presence in the canyon. Getting ThereHike north from the north boat ramp along one of the trails that parallels the west shore to the dam. Scramble up and over rocks and then down to a side canyon that leads east to Granite Creek below the dam.
