I believe Grubbs once told me that this was one of the worst approach to climb ratios of the stuff he'd done.

Is that the case Pernell ?

most def esp the type of vert. u get, hermit transition and flaky tomb. supai is mad fun. gud hike. another smaller vert. ratio is Clubb Butte N of Merlin Abyss and Shinumo, NE of Elaine Castle.

Shinumo's that short but steep looking Hand (small Fin) NE of Elaine's ? What's the approach? Other than getting to the NRim and out there, the hike actually looks moderate (it's all relative, hey?)

Or is this one of those walk all over creation to get 50 above where you now stand ?

U think it's named Shinumo? That would be the third name I've heard besides Tintagil Castle or Clubb Butte. When you really think about any type of climbing, it's all relatively silly....

No, I don't know the name of it.
I thought you had called it Shinumo but I see now that you're really just saying it's N of Shinumo wash.

I've heard rumors of someone going out there (LB maybe ?)

It's a cool looking dink. I've got a picture somewhere I'll post up.
