Description Suggest change

Hatcher Pass bouldering is extensive. The areas are scattered throughout the base of the major cliffs and start at the start of Archangel Road, where it diverges from Fishhook road. The Reed Lakes area is listed separately from Hatcher Pass, due to its divergence in direction from Archangel Road. The rock is excellent granite, with fairly short alpine approaches. This area has contrasting weather windows, compared to other Anchorage areas.

A bouldering guide to Alaska was recently released by Todd Helgeson and covers most of the bouldering in Alaska and features an in depth Hatcher Pass section with great details and photos, to get the boulderer where they want to be climbing. The guide is available for sale at akclimber.com
