Hi all,

I was just wondering if sleeping in your vehicle around Arapiles is legal or at least not known to be harshly treated by the local authorities.
Any related helpful tips based on regional experience are appreciated.

Thanks!

Plenty of folks were sleeping in their cars at The Pines when I was there last (2 yrs ago).

Awesome. Would you happen to have beta on the Grampians, too?

Afraid not. The whole area was recovering from some massive flooding (or maybe it was bushfires?) just 1-2 months before I arrived and everything was closed.

Generally speaking though driving around in a van or mini RV AKA "caravaning" is almost a national pastime in Oz. You'd have to be awfully conspicuous before the cops would pay any attention to you at all.

Don't loiter, don't be filthy, don't have drugs, and stick to the more wilderness areas and you'll never have an issue.

Bump for other travel experiences in that region. =)

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
