Description
Shade until late afternoon. Often dry after a light rain. Often soaked for weeks after a heavy rain.
Getting There
Park at Peter’s Creek Trailhead off Skyline Blvd.
Keep in mind that you'll likely not have cell service along Skyline Blvd, so plan accordingly.
Go left at the first fork, towards Peters Creek. At the second fork turn right, taking you up the hill and on an old dirt road for a bit.
When the trail crosses a private driveway, get on Portola Heights road and follow it (left) for a couple hundred feet. The climbing trail will be on the right and should have a climbing specific sign. Follow that to Eagle Peak and the Claw/Beak formations (left side of ridge).
Aquarian Valley/Devils Canyon
This small bouldering cave is located in Long Ridge Open Space and offers some of the steepest bouldering in the Bay Area. There are a few routes in the area as well and some large slabs to the north and south. This area is best known for the 'Family of Love' who manufactured STP-LSD at the base of the canyon. This area is also known as 'Devils Canyon' and is sort of a local sercret. Very cool history of the area-Google 'The Land, Black Mountain' if you want some more info on the history.
There is a LOT of rock in this valley and the valley that runs n/s at the bottom of the Canyon. Go see what you can find!
Please be mindful of the approach. Climbers have been shot at (with bb's) by homeowners nearby-it's not right, but it is senseless to instigate it also. Don't trespass. Ask about the best approach if you are unsure.
