Anyone know of a cell phone case with a gear loop?

After hearing of a friend dropping her cell phone off the cliff when taking a photo with it, I thought about finding a cell phone case to give as a gift with a gear loop that you could girth hitch some cord onto, or put a biner in...so you could clip it to a sling in case you drop it. But I couldn't find anything. Does anyone know of a brand who makes a rugged cell phone case with a gear loop?
Thanks!

Not exactly what you are asking but ...

I bought an otter box to generally protect my phone from drops. Then, with climbing in mind, I removed a lanyard from camera and girth-hitched it to the plastic frame of the otter box. Works well!

no. just use a case and insure your phone. and don't drop it, as with other important climbing widgets.

something like this:

and then punch some holes in it and thread a very thin piece of nylon. That's how a friend does it.

I've just threaded some thin nylon string through the power button hole and earphone hole in the case. tied some thicker, more durable accessory cord through this for a clip in point. It works very well and can hold a factor 2 fall of the phone. I just have to remember to actually clip it to my harness/shoulder sling, which is easier said than done. The cracks on my screen and scratches on the case are evidence of my shitty memory.

I had thought of starting a thread about this earlier this summer for a trip to the Needles. What I ended up doing was taking a snack sized baggies, cutting a small hole where the lense is and then wrapping some tape around it with a light sling. Kept it in my pocket and it worked pretty well.

I've been testing a new case for the past couple months, it works really well: beelinecases.com/

Another case, PureGear PX360, here

PureGear has updated their lineup with the DualTek XT, which has a much smaller, less intrusive lanyard loop. I can't tell from photos how strong that loop is though. It looks like maybe just silicone.

Lowe makes a great camera case that I've used for an IPhone 5 cell phone case for years. Get it at Best Buy for cheap

Here's an adhesive loop that will work with just about any hard case. The 3M VHB adhesive is super strong; I've used it for other stuff in my hot car for months. The only problem is this thing looks a little too bulky.

The Snow Lizard Tek Tab looks perfect, but apparently they've been discontinued.

fyi

beeline cases suck. There is like no raised lip around the screen to protect it at all.. don't buy it unless you like replacing screens.

Been using this one for a while now, and it's great. ALso makes it real easy to get your phone out super quick to impress the tacticool kids you work with who have a kydex sheath for everything they own. EWRUH BRUTHER

I've been using the PureGear PX360 for a number of months now I am satisfied. Its made to hang easily from a carabiner, either a baby or a small real one. My only minor complaints/concerns is that 1)the case actually screws together with six small hex bolts (it comes with a hex key)so if I needed to remove the phone from the case and did not have the right hex key, I would have to cut it out, and 2)the case is not designed to be waterproof, so a significant rain would be a problem unless I had a waterproof pouch or pocket to put it into.

And the next time I go to the Gunks and will be climbing with the phone on my harness for easy access to the TrappsApp (smartphone guidebook) and taking photos, I intend to have the phone also attached to one of those retractable keychain reels so I can use the phone with one hand and not have to worry about dropping it. Has anyone else ever tried a similar arrangement?

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
