Don't mistake that query for human compassion, Andrew. It's clinical interest. Dude's wearing a white coat and clipboard as he asks.

Thanks, Shawn. I probably could have phrased that a little gentler! That better not have been from climbing, Andrew.

Bone chip with PCL ligament attached, surgery was dec 23. Yep climbing accident, almost one year ago, partner dropped me, guess he was playing with his tallywacker or somethin. Decked after 40ft fall. Sheath of the rope even melted from friction. Took two months for the swelling to go down in my ankle before we could find out something was wrong with me knee, doc said it was worst sprained ankle he had ever seen, specialist said I was lucky it didn't need surgery too. That partner won't climb with me again, guess he thinks I want to drop him. From now on my partners use an auto locking belay device.

A 40' groundfall - wow. Glad you are still hanging tough. Wish you well on your recovery, brudda.

yep

the doc sure was no plastic surgeon, I think that'll leave a mark

well wouldn't say it was a 40 ft free fall though since the rope and the BD ATC provided some friction.
