BETA PHOTO: First Rock formation as seen from upper trail@SEMI...
Description
Angel Creeks Rocks are situated at a great elevation overlooking the north fork of the Chena River along the Chena Hot springs road. The routes are found on granite that can be solid in places and exfoliating and grainy in others. Regardless, the aesthetic quality of the rock and the semi remote setting make Angel Creek a worthwhile destination.
Getting There
From Fairbanks travel north to Chena Hot Springs road. At about mile marker 49 there is a sign for Angel Creek trailhead, turn right and park in the picnic area (fee $5). The trail follows along the north fork on the Chena river and divides into a loop trail that creates a circuit around the rock formations. The trail is well maintained and the approach can take 30-45 minutes depending on the rock formation.
