Description

Crack climbing leads to easy face moves on this nice moderate. Starting in a left-facing corner, follow the crack to its end, then move left and up on easy (but sparsely protected) ground to the top of the small pinnacle.

Setting up a toprope on Burly Girls isn't easy, due to the lack of fixed anchors or places to build a gear anchor. Most leaders belay from the top, then you can hop across the narrow chasm to the main wall and use the walk-down trail.

Location

Past the boulder-strewn section of the Sun Wall trail, look for an oak tree. Burly Girls starts on the left side of the tree.

Protection

The crack has good pro; a #4 or 5 camalot or similar will protect the start. Smaller stuff is needed toward the top. Anchor building is problematical; a tree can be used, though it's a fair distance from the topout.
