Shady and heavily featured, this excellent crag would be swarming with climbers daily if it was in Hidden Valley Camground. The routes here range from 5.6 to 5.11c and except for the outstanding sport route Black and Blue (5.11c) are either all gear protected or mixed gear and bolts.

Notable routes here include the crack/face combo of Flustered (5.9), the runout and dichotomous My Favorite Things (aka Blue Grass) (5.10c R), the discontinous cracks of Blue Ribbon (5.11a R) and the technical and brilliant Black and Blue (5.11c).

Getting There

Bob struck gold with yet another oxymoronic Joshua Tree sport climbing classic. After a short section of easy slab, pass a horizontal and commit to the steeper more continuous face above where you will encounter very balancy and sequential moves with some trickery thrown in as well. Difficult for the grade and a tough onsight. Easily four stars out of five....[more]   Browse More Classics in CA
